Chuckwagon

So you saw our first day, now it's time for that same evening.

For those of you who don't know, Matt's main occupation is being a musician. This consists of playing the fiddle and singing for the Bar D Chuckwagon(sorry they're closed for the season but if you're interested try their website) every night from Memorial Day to Labor Day. They do not get a single night off. During the fall Matt does outfitting(as mentioned yesterday)and they have shows scattered throughout the winter.(If anyone wants to book a show with them we'd love you for bringing them up our way!)
Anyway, that's enough free advertising, don't you think? We went up there on Sunday night to see the show. They do a big dinner for all of their guests and the whole set-up is really quite amazing. I can't even begin to describe it.
The show consists of old cowboy music and comedy and is very fun to watch.

Please forgive these pictures. The one thing that is not good at the Bar D is their lighting so most of these are in b&w. The first night it was still raining so they pulled the big canvas roof over the tables. Usually you'd be sitting under an open sky.

Here is Jay and Rowster hanging out at the music shop where the guys play requests before the show.

Here's Taiter anxiously awaiting his grub.

Gotta love those ears. Just right for scratching...

This is Matt & Tennille's boy Lane. He's hungry too and no matter how many pics I took that night, this was the only look he'd give me.

Now we've had our grub and it's time for the show. Here's the guys!

This is Gary. He's been doing this for 20 years. His wife is also in charge of the shops.

Here's Matt in action.

So there's the first show. Now bare with me, I have few more.

The next night, being the last night of the season, was prank night. And this...

...is what happens to a bunch of cowboys when they let loose!
By the way, the guy in scuba gear and floaties is Joel. He's hilarious.

This is their "banjo" song and don't ask about Cy's toilet seat.
*Cy started the chuckwagon 40-some years ago.

Did you all notice my cute honey playing the bass?

I can't forget to show you the food. You get to choose chicken, beef, steak, or all three for varying prices. And there aren't usually worms in the applesauce but it was prank night, remember?

That's all for now. I will have more later. I tried to squeeze all of the chuckwagon pictures into one post but there are a couple more of the kids that are begging to be posted over the next couple of days, so stay tuned!
