How cute!
Something about two older brothers with a lil sister just melts my heart!
Well, you need to see what your iso is at as far as grainy goes. This is where a new lens would help you out, because you need your iso turned up higher so they aren't blurry if you don't have enough light, so if you had a lens that could go 1.2 or 1.4, 2.8 even, it would help you out so much! If I were you, I'd practice outside first, once you get your setting figured out, then work on it inside on a bright day!

The boys look like twins in this shot! So sweet.

Oh...so cute. The boys do look like twins! And the hands look sooo gentle and adorable on little Avril.

Are you still using non-EOS lenses? Seriously, spend the $90 and get even a cheap 50mm 1.8 (which is a decent aperture) and you'll be shocked at the difference :)

Im tempted to mail you mine just to prove it.

Grainy or not, its still a heartmelty shot. :)

Do you see that Painted over look that it has? I took pics outside yesterday as suggested and messed with the ISO and they almost all had that look no matter what setting I had it on. What causes that? And how do I change it? Also, what websites are good for layman's terms photography tips?

Try Erin's blog for some great pointers. It'll help you wrap your brain around it a little more.

YOU NEED A BETTER LENS!

I'm sure your ISO had to be pretty high. (causing the grain, especially if you didn't expose correctly) Remember, this was my main reason for getting a new camera...

practice outside!!!

"Painted over look"?
May just be your exposure wasn't right. Or your white balance. Sometimes if you adjust your levels in photoshop you can fix this....sometimes it just makes it worse.

If you tell us all your settings we can help you more specifically.
